IWCF accredited Instructor or Assessor.

Your role as an IWCF Instructor or Assessor

As an Instructor, you’ll deliver structured, high-quality training that equips candidates with essential skills and knowledge for the field.
As an Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in evaluating candidates’ practical performance based on IWCF standards, helping ensure fair and consistent assessments across the globe.

IWCF Instructors

IWCF Instructors are responsible for delivering high quality, industry recognised training to candidates enrolled in IWCF accredited courses.

Approval process to become an IWCF Instructor:

Obtain IWCF certification

You must hold a valid IWCF certification in the specific programme you wish to be accredited for.

Meet pre-requisites

Demonstrate relevant technical expertise and teaching ability. Acceptable evidence includes: A recognised teaching or training qualification, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, successful completion of the IWCF Train the Trainer course.

Attend the Train the Trainer course (if required)

This step is only necessary if you cannot provide formal evidence of teaching ability. View upcoming course dates and reserve your place now.

Complete application forms

Download and fill out the required forms.

Submit your application and CV

Your application and CV will be reviewed to assess your suitability.

Receive approval

Once your application is successful, you will be officially approved as an IWCF instructor.

IWCF Assessors

IWCF Assessors are responsible for evaluating candidates during practical assessments, ensuring fair and consistent grading in line with IWCF standards.

Obtain IWCF certification

You must have a valid IWCF Level 4 certification in the Drilling Well Control programme.

Meet technical requirements

You should have relevant technical expertise and be able to configure simulators according to IWCF well design rules.

Complete in-house training

Undertake training with an IWCF approved assessor. This includes instruction of IWCF assessment procedures, documentation and simulator operation.

Submit Application forms

Download and complete the required forms.

Receive Initial Provisional Approval (6 months)

IWCF grants provisional approval for six months. During this time, you must attend the IWCF Assessor Training Course.

Complete Assessor Training Course

View upcoming course dates and reserve your place on the Assessor course. After successfully completing the course, you’ll receive a second six-month provisional approval. During this period, you must independently conduct six practical assessments and submit evidence of these to IWCF.

Gain Full approval

Full approval is granted following a successful review of your submitted assessments.
