PGNiG SA is a public company dealing in exploration and production of natural gas and crude oil, gas import, as well as, through key companies, storage, sale, distribution of gas and liquid fuels as well as heat and electricity production. PGNiG SA also holds shares in companies providing specialized geophysical and drilling and maintenance services, highly valued on international markets.
The PGNiG Group plays a key role on the Polish gas market and as a leader is responsible for maintaining the country’s energy security. To this end, it takes the necessary actions to meet the systematically growing demand for gaseous fuel. The PGNiG Group ensures diversification of supplies through the extraction of domestic deposits and imports from external sources. In Poland, PGNiG is the largest importer and supplier of natural gas. The fuel is delivered to the country through an extensive transmission system network and an LNG terminal in Świnoujście. Gas is distributed to final customers via distribution networks. The national gas system is supplemented by gas storage facilities, which are used to cover seasonal and daily gas shortages.
PGNiG SA has branches and representative offices in Belgium, Pakistan, Russia, Ukraine and United Arab Emirates. It is also the sole owner of PGNiG Upstream Norway AS, which conducts exploration and production activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the Norwegian Sea, PGNiG Upstream North Africa, seeking hydrocarbon deposits in the Murzuq Basin in Libya and PGNiG Supply & Trading GmbH in Munich dealing in gas (including through its London Office).
