The International Well Control Forum (IWCF) recently concluded a regional visit to Beijing and Chengdu in China, focused on stakeholder engagement, visiting members and training centres, and hosting its first Regional Members Event in Chengdu.
During the trip, IWCF representatives engaged with industry professionals and key stakeholders across the region, sharing insights on well control, as well as IWCF’s mission, vision, and values. These meetings provided valuable understanding of local perspectives and strengthened IWCF’s relationships with members, training centres, and industry partners.
The Regional Members Event in Chengdu, hosted by IWCF member Esimtec on 23 April 2026 at Mumian Chengdu, brought together both members and prospective members. IWCF played a leading role in the event, facilitating discussions on industry insights, IWCF Quality Assured, and IWCF Accreditation processes, while providing updates on trends and challenges in well control. A guest speaker from a national oil company contributed additional insights, and members had the opportunity to network, provide feedback, and engage directly with IWCF representatives.
IWCF extends its thanks to Esimtec for hosting the Chengdu event and facilitating these important engagements. IWCF looks forward to continuing to strengthen its global relationships throughout the year through IWCF-led and industry events.
