ROTARY DRILLING
WELL CONTROL &
WELL INTERVENTION PRESSURE CONTROL
Test Reservations
-
The
certification programmes are only carried out at accredited centres.
There are no `public` test sessions.
-
Reservations are managed directly by the accredited centres. Enquiries
regarding training and certifications programmes should be addressed
to the centres in the first instance.
-
Accredited
centres charge candidates, or their sponsors, with the IWCF Registration
Fee (currently GBP 20.00 per candidate) and Written Test administration
costs (variable by location). Usually these fees will be
included in the accredited centre’s published training fees.
-
Details
of the current
accredited
centres can be found on the this website.
-
Details of IWCF test fees and
associated charges can be found on the
certification page
Test Results
-
Accredited
assessors, using exercises based on generic IWCF models, conduct
the Practical Assessment component of the Rotary Drilling Well
Control certification programme. The candidate’s performance
is recorded on a Practical Assessment Grading Sheet, which is
retained by the accredited centre for a minimum period of two
years.
-
An
independent Invigilator, registered by IWCF, conducts the Written
Test components of the certification programmes. Trainers
do not see or review candidate test papers, and candidates are
not allowed to review written test papers before or after a test
session.
-
A
grading sheet is completed by the Invigilator for each candidate's
written test papers. These grading sheets are retained at
the Accredited Centre for a minimum period of two years, to assist
trainers and their clients to identify candidate strengths and
weaknesses and plan future training objectives.
-
The
Assessor conducting the practical assessment and the Invigilator
conducting the written test programme enter and sign off the results
obtained by the candidate on the IWCF Candidate Registration Form.
The Invigilator faxes copies of these forms directly to the IWCF
Secretariat on completion of the test session.
-
The
Accredited centre completes the registration form by adding the
certificate number and issue date for successful candidates.
-
The
issue date is the date on which the candidate successfully completes
the certification programme.
-
The
registration forms are then forwarded to the Secretariat for entry
into the IWCF Registration database.
Issue of Certificates
-
The
Accredited centre, where the candidate successfully completes
the certification programme, prepares the IWCF certificate for
each successful candidate.
-
The IWCF certificate is valid for a period of two years from the
date on which a candidate successfully completes the assessment
programme.
-
If
circumstances permit, it is recommended that the certificates
are processed and handed to the successful candidates before they
leave the centre. If time does not permit, the certificate
must be sent to the candidate by ‘recorded’ or registered mail.
-
The
IWCF certificate must be issued to the individual candidate and
not to a third party.
-
The
certificate contains a perforated ‘credit card size’ mini certificate
that can be detached from the certificate and laminated.
-
Duplicate
certificates cannot be issued in the event of loss of the original
certificate. If a certificate contains incorrect personal details it must be
returned to the issuing centre before a replacement certificate
can be issued.
-
In
accordance with European Data Protection legislation, the IWCF
Secretariat will issue a statement of detail to a candidate, at
any time during the validity period of the original certificate,
if the candidate submits a written request to the Secretariat
stating: - (Confirmation
Procedure)
-
Name,
date and place of birth.
-
Resident
address.
-
Name
of the accredited centre that the candidate attended.
-
Date
of the successful certification programme.
Storage of Personal Data
Personal
details and test results are stored by IWCF in accordance with European
data protection legislation.
Test Paper Analysis
On
written request, accredited centres are required to submit to the
Secretariat statistics of candidate assessment and test performance
in relation to the standards. This information, together with
any general comments, may be used by the IWCF Board to assess the
validity of question bank material and the testing methodology.
